In the background of national strategy "One Belt and One Road", China’s large-scale construction firms are facing more and more intense global competition. With the low-cost advantage fading away, information construction has become an important method to improve the competitiveness and management skills of China’s construction firms. The construction industry business process is project-based with multiple parties involved. With different organizational entities having different corporate goals to accomplish in the project, a unified management approach is hard to accomplish. With the wide appliance of ERP systems and its management idea in construction firms, we can say that ERP has become an important tool and inevitable future for China’s construction firms to improve management skills. The performance of a firm reflects many aspects of a firm, including its current status and future trends. So it is very important for all stake-holders to get to know the performance. So we can say that, it is a new orientation for China’s construction firms to evaluate performance within the context of ERP systems.This paper aims to purpose a unified approach to evaluate performance in construction firms with the help of ERP systems. This paper has chosen BSC to be the approach, and with the identification of performance indicators in ERP’s information flows, we identified performance indicators of different layers. Along with the Expert Evaluation Method, we built up the theoretical frame of performance evaluation in construction firms within ERP context.In the empirical study part, we also chose one of the large-scale state-owned construction firms as example, conducted the method we proposed, and gave advises to improve this method. We believe that, this paper has its representativeness for China’s construction industry.
