Study On BT Group LSS Management And Implementation

Since financial crisis happened in2008, world economy was fiercely stroke. Economy of each countries slumped because of the subprime crisis in the U.S. After years of development, economy in the U.S. had gradually recovered. But China was still facing great challenges. A number of companies were shut down, reduced employees or could not pay salaries on time. Large state-owned companies were facing the most severe challenges and their managements were facing the most difficulties that never happened before.For BT Group, specialized in titanium manufacture, in the fierce competition in the market, its leaders realized that it was necessary to make reform and promote management level and efficiency for a better development and larger development space. After deepening study and discussion, its leaders decided to use Lean Six Sigma (LSS) as a way to promote management and make a fundamental adjustment on management model in the company.This paper took a production line in BT Group as an example. It first found out problems in production, and then followed LSS to makes definition, measure, analysis, promotion and control. It used MINITAB and actual data to demonstrate the optimization and efficiency it received after using LSS management. LSS can also be introduced to other working processes.
