TR Crankshaft Co., Ltd.(hereinafter referred to as "TR company") is one of the largest manufacturing enterprise whose major production is motion control components such as engine crankshafts in China. Since1985, the enterprise’s economic indicators always remain stable in the front row of industry, and it is the preferred supplier of the top-level engine manufacturer at home and abroad.The enterprise’s annual output exceed one million pcs crankshaft, they are widely used in vehicle engine, engineering machinery engine, agricultural machinery engine, immovable machinery engine, small and medium marine high-speed engine, marine(middle and low velicity) engine, oil drilling engine, etc.In order to achieve the objective of building a century foundation of TR enterprise and building international auto parts base. In recent years, TR enterprise have imported the world’s top-notch production technology and processing equipments which promote the enterprise’s production quality. However, with the enterprise’s international development, the enterprise is under enormous pressure of quality promotion and cost reduction. Only the deep and systematic improvement can bring out a fundamental breakthrough. It is widely known that six sigma is the systematic and scientific management tools which can solve the problem of quality. Six sigma study the root causes of the problems and the function relationship of the causes and results scrupulously by using statistical methods, and then to determine improvement projects and measures.The article attempts a thorough analysis of the crankshaft’s machining quality problem and usage mulfunction, and summarize the essential relationship of the crankshaft’s machining quality and usage property. On the base of researching six sigma, the author applys the method that combinating theoretical analysis and practical application,following the principles of DMAIC,and choose the typical product SL80crankshaft quality issues to make the improvement research object and formulate the effective improvement plan and measures, which solve the great quality issues of influencing the SL80crankshaft usage.The article carries on a systematical standard and normalizable study with the six sigma quality control theory, which make holistic approach for crankshaft machining quality control, which solve the deficiency in the process of crankshaft’s quality prevention and process monitoring and raise the quality control standard of the crankshaft and customer satisfaction. The article provide valuable system performance estimation and reference for other similar enterprises.
