Research On The Project Risk Management Of The Fifth Cold Rolling Project Of Baosteel

Going forward step by step, there are many uncertainties in the construction project. The uncertainties make risks occur, which usually do harm to the implementation of projects. It is urgent to apply risk management to engineering project.With the object of the5th cold rolling project of BAOSTEEL, this paper introdouces the background of the project briefly. It is much necessary to study the project risk. Secondly, the paper systematically introduces the theory of engineering project risk management, then based on the identification of the5th cold rolling project of BAOSTEEL, the estimate and evaluation of the project are offered effectively. The measures, which includes establishing the procedure of risk management and keeping away the technical risk,the finances risk, accomplishment risk,the quality risk,the produce risk and the secret keeping risk, are also recommended to decrease and prevent the risks. Lastly, we draw the conclusion that the5th cold rolling project of BAOSTEEL can be carried out and that the control of the project risks should be strengthened.Now Baosteel is facing the second carve out, Baosteel will do the investment in Zhangjiang in South area and Xinjiang in North-west area of China. The study here may have some directing and referring functions for managing the investment risks of iron&steel construction projects in the future.
