Food is the first necessity for human beings. It is an important material for peopleto survive. It is also the basic guarantee for people’s production and life. The quality ofpeople’s lives and health has direct contact with food safety. The two are closely linkedwith each other. In recent years, incidents about food safety become more and morefrequent. All kinds of food safety problems cause diseases for people and have effectson the quality of life and the health of people. Nowadays, government and society paymore attention to food safety. The catering industry is an important part of food industry.People’s production and life are closely related with catering industry. Under thebackground of rapid economic development and constantly improvement of people’sliving standard, China’s catering industry has been developed rapidly. So someproblems on China’s catering industry appear frequently. Therefore, to supervise food ofcatering industry is an important way to keep people healthy. So this paper takesGuangzhou city as an example and is based on the theory of food safety and food safetysupervision. Firstly, the thesis analyzes the particularity and necessity of government’ssupervision for food safety. Secondly, it analyzes the current situation of food safetysupervision in Guangzhou catering industry and discusses the problems of Guangzhoufood safety supervision. Finally, it puts forward some countermeasures to improvecatering industry of food safety supervision system. The paper aims to provide referencefor China’s food safety supervision in catering industry and promote the development ofChina’s catering industry in a healthy way.
