Urbanization Quality is an important witness to the economic development and social progress of the countries and cities, but also the key to the healthy development of urbanization in advance. Based on the research of the definition of the urbanization quality and the evaluation system, we build the evaluation system from four aspects of economic development, public service, lifestyle and environment. On the basis of the index dates and with the method of factor analysis, the urbanization quality of the 287 cities is measured and graded. By the use of geospatial analysis and spatial analysis software, we analyze the spatial difference and relationship of the urbanization quality of the 287 cities. Finally using the multiple regression analysis and the scores of the common factors to analyze the influencing factors of the urbanization quality within different ranges, and tries to put forward countermeasures and suggestions to improve the urbanization quality. The main research results include the following aspects:(1)The overall level of the urbanization quality is low, and there are big gaps between cities; There was a positive correlation between the urbanization quality and the city size, the higher the urbanization quality, the bigger the city size was; Urbanization quality and the level of urbanization is also positively correlated, but the two are not coordinated development, urbanization quality development lags behind the level of urbanization.(2)On the spatial distribution, the high value areas are mainly distributed in Jingjinji, the Yangtze River Delta, Pearl River Delta and other capital cities and municipalities, the low value areas are scattered distribution and mainly distributed in central and western regions. The urbanization quality was descending from east to west trend, and in some areas, the cities of high urbanization quality present the distribution of agglomeration.(3)Spatial correlation study shows that:the space distribution of urbanization quality in our country does not show the complete randomness, but show spatial agglomeration between the spatial similarity value. Local spatial autocorrelation analysis shows that:HH areas mainly distributed in the economically developed regions of Jingjinji, the Yangtze River Delta and Pearl River Delta; LL areas mainly distributed in the western region and other areas which economy is relatively backward; HL and LH areas were dominated located in the central regions and partly in the western regions. G index analysis found that the hotspots is given priority to Jingjinji, the Yangtze River Delta and Pearl River Delta, times hotspots, times cold spots and cold spots thus turn to the central and western regions. The phenomenon is consistent with the urbanization quality in descending order from east to west trend.(4)Multiple regression analysis showed that the ecological environment is the most important index on urbanization quality in our country, then, in turn, is the way of life, public service and economic development indicators. By the comparative analysis of the common factors score,we found that the influencing factors in eastern regions is the insufficient supply of the public services, the central and western regions are the low level of the economic development. And the 6 major urban agglomerations are the low level of the overall economic development, the lack of the public services and the poor of the ecological environment. Therefore, if we want to improve the urbanization quality, on the basis of the development of economic, we should pay more attention to the construction of urban ecological environment, the supply of the urban infrastructure and public services and the improvement of the quality of people’s living standard and life.
