Land Intensive Use Level’s Difference Among Hubei Prefecture-level Cities

Land is an important resource for a city’s social,economic and ecological development.Urban land intensive use is the basis for urban economics’ sustainable development.Thus,it is necessary to study the urban land intensive use level’s difference and probe the economic and management factors which have important meaning for urban land intensive use in macro level.This research has not only expanded the evaluation object,the content evaluation index system and evaluation method of urban land intensive use evaluation,but also impelled the exploring of the driving force which is about economic and management factors in macro level.It is a beneficial attempt for land intensive use evaluation theory micro concrete’s situation performance macro-management and regulation.This paper has taken 15 center cities in prefecture-level city of Hubei as the studying objects and constructing evaluation system of the "input-output-benefit".Dates have been standardized by extreme standardization.Weights have been determined by combination weighting method.Estimating relatively intensive land use level of 15 cities and dividing 15 cities into five categories by cluster analysis.To analyze the difference of land intensive use level with the help of ArcGIS software platform.Discussing how economic and management factor in macro level influents intensive use it is including economies of scale,regional industrial structure,the supply of land and urbanization.Lastly,according to intensive use levels and related factors,giving some recommendations to improve the level of intensive land use.Lastly,according to intensive use levels and related factors,giving some recommendations to improve the level of intensive land use.The main conclusions of this study are as follows:(1)Intensive use level of Land in 15 Hubei prefecture-level cities(not including Wuhan,Shennongjia)is quite different.Overall,intensive use level of the central region is general.Huangshi,Huanggang and Ezhou in north and Xiangyang and Shiyan in northwest of Hubei,these cities’ intensive use level are higher.Some cities which including Enshi,Xiantao,Tianmen,Xianning City have lower intensive use.(2)The difference of land investment and land productivity is the main reason for the difference of land intensive use level.Most cities are in the input-output equilibrium.There are six cities special,Xiaogan and Xiantao belong to high input-low output,Xiangyang,Yichang Ezhou and Qianjiang belong to low input-high output.(3)While the overall size of the economy reflects the level of economic development of the city,but it has no effect on land intensive use level.Hubei urban development strategy-"Two-circle" has no significant too.(4)There are 10 cities’ industrial structure and base better;the others are worse.The industrial structure of the city has a greater impact on the level of intensive land use.The growth process embodied in the structure deviation components which having a significant impact on the significance level of 0.05.Good industrial structure and base can improve the level of intensive use of land.(5)GDP elasticity of land in Hubei is quite different.Huangshi GDP elasticity of land is higest.Xiaogan City is the only one whose GDP elasticity of land is less than 1,its’ is only 0.86.In addition there are 10 cities higher than middle level.GDP elasticity of land has significant impact on the level of intensive land use on the significance level of 0.05.It can improve the level of intensive use of land.Thus adjusting the amount of land supply to keep in line with the pace of economic development,it is helpful to improve the level of intensive use of land.(6)The average level of Economic urbanization rate is 83.63%,the average level of population urbanization rate is 50.82%.The economic urbanization disparity is less than the population urbanization.Population and economic urbanization have a greater impact on intensive use level of land on the significance level of 0.05.Improving population urbanization and promoting the development of secondary and tertiary industries can the level of intensive use of land.Research may help to assess and identify the key areas and the overall level of land intensive use management of Hubei province.It is also good for improving the utilization efficiency of land under the conditions of limited resources of the reserve supply.Promoting cities in Hubei Province develop healthily,orderly and sustainably.
