Research On The Effect Of The Development Of Production Materials Wholesale For Manufacturing Efficiency

After more than thirty years of rapid development of reform and opening up, China’s economy has made remarkable achievements. As the backbone of our economy, the total amount of manufacturing industry has developed rapidly. The scale of manufacturing industry is expanding constantly, the industrial structure and levels of skill are significantly improved and increased. Our manufacturing industry gradually becomes a’world factory’. However, in recent years, with the disappearance of the demographic dividend, the cost of labor is rising rapidly. Natural advantages of China’s manufacturing industry disappears, many foreign-invested enterprises have turned to cheaper countries in Southeast Asia. The ability of technological innovation of China’s manufacturing industry is not strong, too much dependence on imports is not conducive to long-term development. Big but not strong reality makes an urgent need to upgrade our manufacturing industry. "Service economy" is the dominant economic model in the 21st century. In recent years, the relationship between manufacturing and services is becoming increasingly tight. As the senior manufacturing factor input, producer services play a strong supporting role of the development of manufacturing. This paper selects production materials wholesale in the producer services, study its influence on manufacturing efficiency, in order to provide a useful reference for China’s manufacturing industry restructuring and upgrading.Firstly, the theoretical part of this paper outlines the production materials wholesale and manufacturing industry. Then it uses the theory of division of labor, the theory of industry correlation, the theory of value chain and the theory of circulation effect to analyze the mechanism of production wholesale industry to promote manufacturing efficiency. Secondly, this paper describes the current development and problems of production materials wholesale and manufacturing. In the empirical part, we select a total of seven years of panel data from across 31 provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions. We establish a panel econometric model and make empirical test, then draw the following conclusions:First, both the output efficiency of production materials wholesale and the industry-scale of production materials wholesale have a significant positive effect on the efficiency of the manufacturing. Thus, from an overall perspective, it can be considered that the development of production materials wholesale has a positive role in promoting the efficiency of the manufacturing, but its impact mechanism and the role of the path needs further exploration. Second, material capital, human capital and urbanization also have different effects on the efficiency of manufacturing, and the biggest impact on the efficiency of manufacturing is human capital.Finally, in terms of the government, the social environment and enterprise, this paper puts forward some policy suggestions:change the concept of development, reconsider the role of the wholesale industry in the commodity circulation, accelerate the level of informatization, enhance industrial efficiency, create a favorable institutional environment and credit environment, build up strategic alliance. It can provide a useful reference for the development of production materials wholesale and transformation and upgrading of manufacturing.
