After the world war Ⅱ, enterprise culture arouse people’s interest accompanied by Japan’s industrial growth, developed countries’ automotive industry in the world have rich enterprise culture connotation. The theory of Enterprise culture were introduced to China accompanied by the tide of reform and opening-up in 1984. On that time enterprise culture study often appeared in the newspapers and have attracted people’s much attention. From 1992 to 1999, the enterprise culture theory has been paid more and more attention, the theory of Enterprise culture research have been more developed. The reason of subject of corporate culture developed rapidly from the date of birth is that it is of great significance in enterprise management. In fact many excellent companies’ development proved this. Toyota which was founded in 1937 is the first automobile manufacturing enterprise now. FAW which founded in the 1950s, is China industry’s Benchmarking. They are both typical representative of China’s excellent enterprises. China and Japan are affected by the Confucian culture, so a comparative study between Toyota and FAW’s cultural characteristics is significantly. Although Toyota for recall events in 2010 caused public misgivings constantly, experienced so many years of development, it has formed a unique corporate culture and it is also an example to learn for many manufacturing companies.The purpose of this research is to study and compare the cultural characteristics of Toyota and FAW, then give some good advice for China’s manufacturing industry development. Based on the analysis of the literature, Toyota and FAW’s Cultural characteristics were summarized. Then analyzing the similarities and differences between the two corporate cultures. Toyota’s four cultural characteristics are reducing waste, improving efficiency, respecting contradictions and actively facing the crisis. FAW’s three cultural characteristics are Keeping with the times, advanced thinking and self-development.The contents of this paper are as follows:This paper has seven chapters. The first chapter is an introduction, mainly to explain the research background, significance, purpose and research framework. The second chapter is a literature review, mainly explain corporate culture, Dynamic studies of corporate culture at home and abroad and Toyota’s research trends. In third chapter author describe the importance of corporate culture research. The fourth chapter describes the features of Toyota’s corporate culture. The fifth chapter describes the main features of the corporate culture of FAW. In sixth chapter author compare Toyota and FAW’s corporate culture. In last chapter through Toyota and FAW’s corporate culture comparative study, analyzing enlightenment on manufacturing enterprise culture construction.
