3D printing supplies is a 3D printing technology based on consumption of material,3D printing technology is divided into SLA, FDM, SLS technology. U company products are mainly FDM technology, FDM technology that is fused deposition modeling technology, ABS, PLA and other types of existing main supplies products. PLA is a kind of wide applications of biodegradable material, very environmental protection, in the human daily life is used more and more widely. In the 3D printing consumables application, although PLA printing supplies the research started relatively late, but development is very rapid, increasingly fierce competition. At the same time, because the products and constantly updated technology,3D printing supplies domestic enterprises are also faced with enormous pressure to survive. Therefore, in this challenging circumstances, enterprises need to use some scientific methods and tools to guide the product cost control and value promotion, in order to improve the competitiveness of enterprises and their products. Value Engineering (Value Engineering, referred to as VE) method is a combination of economic, management, research and development in management technology, is widely used in the analysis of product life cycle, cost of products or services function innovation, scheme evaluation and optimization. Combined with VE method to realize the 3D printer consumables cost control and value promotion, which can greatly enhance the competitiveness of enterprises, but also can further extend the application field of VE method.This paper emphatically introduces the related content of PLA application of VE method in the 3D printing supplies, on the function of innovation life cycle cost and the product of PLA materials are discussed in detail. Combined with the relationship between the two, and the design method of using orthogonal test, and gives the optimal model of the VE application function innovation. Through the application of VE method to the analysis of PLA, the optimized VE application model. According to the 3D print materials industry characteristics, discusses the application of VE in U company from two aspects of material procurement process and product function innovation. Method of application of VE in material procurement process, put forward some feasible material procurement alternatives. Using VE method to analyze the value of the reference solutions and alternatives, determine the best plan of materials procurement. Select the U company’s main product PLA consumables as analysis object, the product function innovation and to enhance the value of analysis at the same time. The changes and function of cost by using the VE method with evaluation to enhance the performance of PLA supplies in the process of lifting capacity, to improve the effect of quantitative analysis of PLA improvement for supplies.The conclusion of this paper:the combination of design method by using the VE method and the orthogonal experiment, the realization of cost control and value of 3D printing supplies enterprise’s promotion is effective, feasible, the analysis methods and evaluation system is general operability for enterprises.
