With a series of platforms established like China and Arab Economic and Trade Forum, China Inland Open Economic Experimental Zone in Ningxia, China (Ningxia) Halal Food Base, the strategic thinking of "One Belt and One Road "proposed, a full, equal strategic cooperative relation is developed between China and Arab States, and they have a booming trade. China-Arab bilateral trade volume is USD3.7734 billion in 2002, USD76.1808 billion in 2013, it increased more than 19 times during 2002-2013. But there is one problem of beef trade between them, the problem is that beef import trade volume in Arab States is increasing, but the export trade volume of Chinese beef for Arab States is decreasing. China-Arab beef trade is not optimistic. In view of the reality of huge demand for beef product in Arab states, based on the research of China-Arab beef trade and Chinese beef export competitiveness for Arab states as the study object, we adopt quantitative and comparative analysis with RRCA, NRCA, MS, TC index and empirical analysis with CMS model and Trade Gravity model, study the status and competitive advantage of Chinese beef, research the influencing factors of export competitiveness and trade potential of Chinese beef in Arab market. The results showed that the market share of Chinese beef in Arab shrinks much in recent years and no competitive advantage; Chinese beef product structure and market structure are undesirable in Arab, the special requirements of Arab for food, cost, international environment etc. also partly influence China-Arab beef trade; China-Arab beef trade still has room and potential for growth. Based on the above analyses in this paper, we put forward some policy suggestions to enhance export competitiveness of Chinese beef in Arab. The above analyses and research provide a theoretical basis and research framework for export competitiveness of Chinese halal food and a theoretical reference for Chinese beef exports in Arab States.
