An Empirical Study On Degree And Performance Of Chinese Equipment Manufacturing Industry Servitization

Equipment manufacturing industry provides equipments for other industries of the national economy. As a basic industry, its features are wide range, high-tech, high value-added, high related degree with industry and so on. It is helpful to improve the development technology level and labor productivity of the national economy sectors and improve national competitiveness and overall national strength. So it plays a decisive role in the national economy.In recent years,Chinese equipment manufacturing industry has developed rapidly, and has surpassed the United States as the biggest equipment manufacturing industry in the world. However, Chinese equipment manufacturing industry has many problems in its development, such as low level of technology, weak capacity in innovative, and so on.Developed countries’ manufacturing industry is presenting a new trend, namely the gradual integration of manufacturing and service industries, prompting the equipment manufacturing industry continues to move up to high-end of the value chain and achieve higher added value. In order to optimize and upgrade the equipment manufacturing industry, China should follow the trend to accelerate the servitization of China’s equipment manufacturing industry, seek new growth point in the competitive market to achieve sustained and rapid development of China’s equipment manufacturing industry.In this context, this paper studies the degree and performance of China’s equipment manufacturing servitization to understand the status quo of Chinnese equipment manufacturing servitization, as well as promotion to development of equipment manufacturing.Firstly, this paper described related theories and research status of the equipment manufacturing servitization, and then analyzes the current development of Chinese equipment manufacturing and producer services by collecting data.Secondly, the author uses the input-output method to analyze China’s equipment manufacturing industry by horizontal and vertical comparison. Vertical comparison means that comparing years of servitization index of Chinese equipment manufacturing industry, and the conclusion is that the development of Chinese equipment manufacturing servitization is slow. Horizontal comparison means that comparing servitization index of Chinese equipment manufacturing industry to United States, Germany and Japan, and the conclusion is that servitization of China’s equipment manufacturing industry is lowThirdly, this paper use panel data to create a model, and the conclusion is that servitization of equipment manufacturing industry could promote the development of the equipment manufacturing industry.
