The textile-apparel industry is an important industry in the national economy andpeople’s livelihood in China,after the reforming and opening,it gradually developed into apillar industry of China’s foreign trade,but as the financial crisis impact on China’s foreigntrade,the situation of the international competitive advantage has not existed,thetransformation has became a major issue facing the development of apparel foreign tradeenterprises.The necessities of transformation include two aspects factors are internal andexternal factors,the external factor is the change of the international trade environment andthe internal problems of apparel enterprises,for example,the OEM production mode is in thelow-end value chain, which only has low added value makes its poor ability to resist risks;Thecost increases,and orders loss;Enterprise management problems lead to the failure oftransformation.Enterprise can not blindly plan the transformation path,it is more important toidentify problems and make scientific planning and long-term development measurement.In view of the above industry current situation,based on the background knowledge of theapparel foreign trade enterprises’ transformation,take the transformation of Shanghai small andmidsize foreign trade apparel enterprise X as an example to explore the transformationdevelopment path,and present methods from its transformation mode for small and midsizeapparel foreign trade enterprises.The specific contents are as follows:do research of the transformation path of the Xapparel foreign trade enterprise,interview key staffs of X enterprise and analyze thedevelopment path and transformation mode,mainly research the X company’s transformationstatus,production operation and brandA’s market performance.Conduct questionnaire survey of apparel foreign trade enterprises’ development statusand transformation situation,collect36questionnaires,the purpose of the survey is understand the foreign trade development status and transformation of apparel foreign trade in Shanghaiand other key foreign trade areas.Methods like frequency analysis,cross analysis,classificationanalysis of dealing with the questionnaires’ data are used,analyze the basic information ofenterprise,apparel foreign trade transformation development,and the research staffs’opinionabout the foreign trade enterprise transformation.Extracting the X enterprise transformation method and sum up the transformation meansfor small and midsize apparel foreign trade enterprises,for example,emphasis on theaccumulation of customer resources,develop design ability from imitation to innovation;Mixthe transformation mode of OEM,OBM,ODM can reduce the impact on the originalbusiness;Pay attention to enterprise development planning can help make right decisions indifferent stages of transformation;Fully use the e-commerce channels and new medias toexpand the brand influence,and improve sales.
