The informationization of our country is developing so quickly that more and more small and midsize enterprises realize the strategic importance of the information technology– the importance for their development, especially for the transformation of enterprise management. As a kind of advanced management idea, ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) can help small and midsize enterprises that are on their way of growing to standardize their business process, fill up the leaks of their management and realize the great developments of them. Thus, the implementation of ERP, which has integrated the mature information technology and advanced management ideas, is of strategic importance to the small and midsize enterprises.Firstly, this paper introduces the principles of ERP and the traits of ERP application in small and midsize manufactural enterprises. On the basis of summarizing the implementation methods used both overseas and inland and considering the facts that the small and midsize manufactural enterprises of our country manufacture according to the orders, have limited storage and capital and can adapt to the market very quickly, this paper introduces the process modeling method of ARIS(Architecture of Integrated Information Systems). Making full use of ARIS Toolset's strong abilities of modeling, simulating and evaluating, this paper puts forward the frame of ERP implementation based on ARIS. We explain the implementation of ERP from all the four stages including defining of the project, designing business blue print, preparing for the launching of the system and continuous maintaining of the system. In the last chapter of this paper, taking the ERP implementation of a typical small and midsize manufactural enterprise that the author took part in as an example, we illuminate all the four stages mentioned in detail. In particular, we make use of the strong modeling and simulating platform of ARIS to describe and optimize the four key steps (analyzing and describing of the demands, designing and optimizing of process, the environment of the system and preparation of data, launching of the system and continuous maintaining) both qualitatively and quantitatively. So that the frame model of ERP implementation...
