Study On The Development Of Qingdao City’s Port And City System Based On System Dynamics

With the world economic development trend of economic globalization, theinternational trade is getting gradually prosperous. The international industry start totransfer in the whole world, and the industry are gathered around ports. Now modern portshave become an important part of industrial and economic development. There are positiveforce and negative force in port and city system formed by port and city. So handling therelationship between port and city is increasingly being valued by people. Seeking ways andopportunities to improve the Qingdao port and city system operation is studied. What’smore, this paper is aimed to provide theoretical guidance and decision-making support forport and city system of how to realize the coordinated development.Firstly, this paper reviews the research status of domestic and foreign scholars in thethree aspects of the relationship between port and city in qualitative study and quantitativestudy and system dynamics. On this basis, this paper enriches the theory of port and citysystem. The connotation and characteristics of the port and city system are stated, and theevolution stages of mutual development between city and port are elaborated in this paper.Secondly, the present situation of the development of Qingdao port and city system isanalyzed. Then the city system internal subsystems are divided. Considering the localconditions, typical indexes are selected to set up an integrated performance index system ofport and city system. A dynamic simulation model for Qingdao city and port system isestablished using the method of system dynamics. According to this model, two kinds ofdifferent policy schemes for dynamic simulation are tested. Comprising the differentschemes simulation data, different typical variables existed in Qingdao port and city systemare analyzed. Then we can make a conclusion that which is the better scheme to promote the coordinated development of port and city system under the limited conditions. Finally,according to the actual development situation and the model results of the Qingdao port andcity system, this paper suggested5advices to promote the Qingdao port and city systemcoordinated development. The suggestions are increasing the transportation investment,constructing the Lingang industrial system supported by the port, improving the industrialstructure to develop modern service industry, expanding the port hinterland radiation area,and optimizing the port resources to improve efficiency.
