With the arrival of the economic era and the development of hi-tech industries, anycountries and enterprises can not avoid the fierce competition in the market and have to dealwith various challenges during the development of the market. The strength of thecore-competitiveness is playing a key role in deciding the survival and development ofenterprises.Over the past20years, the timber industry in the city of Linyi has developed rapidly.Now, there are more than6000enterprises and450,000practioners in total. The quantity ofexport accounts for about30percent of the total export of wood-based panels. However, inrecent years,affected by the financial crisis and the increase of the labor price,the majorityof timber enterprises have suffered from many problems such as a significant reduction inorders, a large number of overstock products, and sharp decrease of market sales.Therefore, it is a problem to be solved urgently for the timber enterprises to improvethemselves that how to change the stereotypes, optimize the product structure, eliminatebackward product capacity, make full use of their own the advantage and the sources, andfoster and enhance their core competitiveness.Taking the timber processing enterprises in Lanshan District, Linyi city as examples, thisarticle studies the application of core competitiveness theory in timber processing enterprisesmanagement, and tries to find out the solution to the difficulties of these enterprises. The firstpart of the article describes the background, significance, main research contents and methodsof the study and summarize achievements of current core competitiveness researches andstudies in both home and abroad. The second part elaborates the connotations, basiccharacteristics, classification constitute, and functions of the basic theory of corecompetitiveness in corporation level, which aims to provide adequate theoretical basis for thefollow-up demonstration. The third part takes the wood processing enterprises in LanshanDistrict, Linyi city as the object of this study, and gives an in-depth analysis on the overalldevelopment of wood processing industry in this area. On this basis, this study chooses dataof10local wood processing enterprises randomly and compares their sales revenue, profitincome and other indexes during the period of2008-2011. The study shows that factors thatinfluence the core competitiveness of wood processing enterprises in this region includetechnology and innovation competitiveness, HR management expertise, market exploration ability and the ability of building corporate culture and improving production. To facilitate thestudy, a questionnaire on core competitiveness research in this region is designed to providethe reader a better and complete knowledge of the five factors that influence the corecompetitiveness of the timber processing industry. Combining the reality and developmentneed of timber processing industry, the fourth part brings about the strategies for improvingthe core competitiveness of timer processing enterprises. And this strategies are made fromthe following five aspects: technology system, market innovation, HR accumulation, marketextension and brand building. The last part offers a summary to the whole study. |
