The Impact Of Developing Group Work On The Empowerment Of Unemployed

Nowadays, the unemployment causes extensive attention all over the world, manycountries pay attention on reemployment training in order to solve the problem. Thereemployment training of unemployed started late in our country. In reemploymenttraining, there are problems such as the content and mode of training is single, ingorepsychological counseling and employability training. The study of unemployedreemployment training, is almost focus on theoretical study of social security system.So far there is no relevant research on the unemployed reemployment training from theperspective of social work. In order to make up the shortfall of the theory and practicestudy, the study use group work method on unemployed reemployment training, discusswhether the group work method is effective on the empowerment of unemployed.This study will be based on a reemployment training in a training center in Yichangcity.The study choose the unemployed in the training center as our subjects, conductsocial work practice by using developing group work under the empowerment theoryand the employability theory.The study use the paired sample method to classify20subjects equally into2groups: control group and experiment group. By using pretestand aftertest questionnaires which include several dimensions such as professional skills,self-confidence, interpersonal relationship, self-evaluation, relieve stress, following thechanges in experimental data and the statistical results of SPSS, the study analysiswhether the group work method is effective.The results show that:1.The impact of developing group work on the empowermentof unemployed is quite effective.2.Developing group work can effectively improve theemployability of unemployed on self-evaluation.3.Developing group work caneffectively improve their employability on relieve stress.4.Developing group work caneffectively improve their employability on self-confidence.5.Developing group workcan effectively improve their employability on interpersonal relationship and the resultis most effective.6.The training impact in skill training class on empowerment ofunemployed is limited.There is a significant impact on professional skills, yet otherdimensions show no significant impact.Besides, this paper has discussed the advantages of developing group work onempowerment of unemployed.Also discussed the significance of group work forunemployed from the perspective of empowerment as well as how to conduct groupwork in order to obtain better effect in institution.
