Food safety has always been one of the most concerned issues of people. Inrecent years, with the improvement of living standard, people pay more and moreattention to food quality. As the main meat source, pork plays an important role in ourdaily food consumption. China is the world’s largest producer and consumer of pork,so the safety of pork products, which is related to the people’s livelihood, isparticularly important. However, compared with the developed countries, there aremany problems in China such as the management of pork production which lagsbehind, small scale, the lack of perfect laws and regulations, backwardness ofregulation measures, incomplete credit system, and so on. As a result, they are doingphysical harm and mental harm to residents, and economic harm to the nation. Manyproblems occurs in circulation domain, and it is the key and difficult point of porksecurity governance as well.This paper introduces the present situation of pork safety management in Tianjin,and problems existing in circulation domain are analyzed. The author reads relevantgovernment work report, investigates related enterprises and government agencies,and gains rich first-hand information. Based on this, the reasons of the problemsmentioned above are analyzed. By referring to successful experience and advancedmode of pork safety management of developed countries, and combining with theactual situation in Tianjin, this paper puts forward suggestions about how to improvethe pork circulation safety management in Tianjin. By these means, the safetymanagement of pork circulation in Tianjin can gradually be institutionalized,standardized and legalized, the whole supervision on the circulation can be realized,and the level of technology used in the management process can be improved.
