With the development and popularization of high-rise buildings in Chinese cities,the accidents of elevator have also occurred. In that case,the security and reliability ofelevator products have been paid more and more attention. It is not only an opportunitythat elevator manufacturing enterprises get more and more market with economicdevelopment, but also elevator manufacturing enterprises have been confronted withchallenge of quality management level. In this context, Sematic Elevator Products(Suzhou) Co.,Ltd (SEP) has been taken for an example as an elevator manufacturingenterprise, which is practical significance that the application of Six Sigma managementin SEP has been researched.The existing problems belong to quality management in SEP company have beenanalyzed based on the Six Sigma quality management theory in this paper. The elevatordoor flatness-twist improvement project has been taken for an example, and researchedthe project about definition, measurement, analysis, improvement and control etc. by theimproved model using DMAIC process. This include defining project goals, creatingthe project team, project planning, transferring the voice of the customer into qualityevaluation; the reliability and accuracy studying of the measurement system, thebrainstorming, causal analysis (fishbone diagram), failure mode and effects analysis(FMEA) and Pareto method are used in this project, three key factors of impactedflatness-twist of elevator door panel were identified by this research and test. Then,relative actions of improvement have been taken based on these factors. The result showthat the number of defects per million (DPPM), flatness-twist (CPK) and sigma levelhave mainly reached the target defined of the project after improvement. It broughtabout that the project has been got the basic realization of the expected financial returns and reduced customer complaints. According to the use of DMAIC tools, the projectteam building and training and other aspects, this text has put forward to some concretesuggestions on improving the level of Six Sigma Management in enterprises.The results of this paper have reference value to the elevator manufacturingenterprises in implementing Six Sigma management.
