Design And Implementation Of ERP Production Planning Module Based On Domain Model

ERP is the full name of enterprise resource planning, it’s a kind of all-round andsystematic information management platform to support plan, decision, control andperformance evaluation, using advanced theory and method on production managementand aiming at making full use of resources. For manufacturers, production plan is the baseof operations or management for enterprise, whose aim is to make detailed arrangementsfor resources and production, and also, make detailed judgment of profit and the risk.Production plan leads the main line of the whole activities of the enterprise can improvethe operating efficiency and reduce investment and increase profits, therefore, formatting ascientific and reasonable production plan is an importance issue for enterprises.Production plan is the basis of purchasing and manufacturing in ERP, its accuracy andeffectiveness affects other modules operating effectively, such as manufacturing, sales,financial, inventory. Therefore, Production plan is an important content of enterprises.Contents of this article are based on a small and medium manufacturing enterprise InWuhan. We analyses the business logical of the old ERP system about production plan,then, according to the difficulties and shortcomings occurred during the process of usingproduction plan system, we design a new production plan module in new ERP system. Thenew production plan aim to apply the enterprise development and it is designed based onMRP II (manufacturing resource Planning). At the same time, we consider that the originalERP is database centered, this will make the system efficiency low, and maintainabilityand scalability is bad. To solve those problems, this paper we will use a method based ondomain model, which takes the business as center, not consider the database and processthe business logic centralized, and makes the system scalability and maintainability highly.In this paper we analyze business of production planning module firstly, draw the use casediagram based on the business rules, then divide and establish domain model for theproduction planning module according to the domain model classification rules, finally werealized the system function and test it.Application of new ERP is based on OFBIZ, an open source frameworks. OFBIZestablish a powerful commercial software platform with Entity Engine as core technology. The main function entity engine is to pack database table operations, the developers justneed to process the operations on business object in the program, OFBIZ willautomatically update to the database through transaction logic. OFBIZ is a platform,which fits the development based on domain model.
