The development of infrastructures of the power grid cannot satisfy the fastgrowing power demand by industry and economy in Anyang (a city in middle-eastChina with a population of5million). In order to solve the financial problem ofbuilding these power grids, a more efficient investment strategy should be developed.A great improvement (guaranteed an annually11%power supply increase) of powergrid in the area of Anyang has been achieved during the ‘Shi Yi Wu’(a five yearsdevelopment plan). However, the society keeps asking for high quality power supply,and at the meantime, ignores the invest-to-profit ratio. The power and energy supplieris an entity of commercial company, yet the property of a company is still fighting forthe highest profit in the market. We should step into the next era of the power griddevelopment which asking for more profit.In this study, the state-of-the-art of the power grid in Hua county (a county inAnyang) is analyzed. Furthermore, three reliable power grid development plans aredesigned specifically for Hua county. Finally, the method for analyzing theprofitability of the power grid is discussed. Also the study of the feasibility of usingthis method to analyze the current existing three power grid development plans ispresented. As a result, a profitable and reliable power grid plan for Hua county isproposed.
