Study On Income Distribution Equity Of Guangdong Province From The Perspective Of The Harmonious Society

Personal income is the source of livelihood of people, income distribution relatesclosely to the very interests of millions of people, and whether the workers can bemobilized to involve themselves in the social affairs, whether the whole society can bestable and harmonious all depend on the fair income distribution. Currently, there is a bigincome gap in China, which leads to the disparities between rich and poor. This gap notonly makes some people feel more anxious about society than before, but alsoexacerbates the risks brought about by social injustice. This kind of situation is contraryto the core requirements of constructing a harmonious socialist society, the ambitiousgoal of building a well-off society and achieving common prosperity. Research on theincome distribution equity is of great theoretical and practical significance for perfectingthe income distribution system to a more fair and equal one, for constructing theharmonious society and for realizing the Chinese dream of national rejuvenation.From the perspective of constructing a harmonious society, with fairness and justiceas the starting point, the paper selects Guangdong Province, which witnessed a rapidsocio-economic development but a large income gap since the introduce of the reformand opening up policy, as the study case and tries to analyze the income distributionequity from a provincial perspective. First, by describing the general equitable incomedistribution theory, the paper sums up the Marxist concept of equitable incomedistribution and the income distribution theory of socialism with Chinese characteristics.Secondly, the paper discusses that the realization of equitable income distribution is ofgreat significance to constructing a harmonious society and a happy Guangdong Provincebased on reality. Thirdly, in view of the present income distribution situation ofGuangdong Province, from the Gink coefficient, the income gap between urban and ruralareas, between different regions, industry and residents, the paper points out thephenomena of unfair distribution of Guangdong Province, and then finds out that thereasons for the unfair distribution are the imbalance of regional economic development,the inequality in education and employment, the deficiency of fair competition, the weaksocial security system, the slow reform of the income distribution system and so on. Finally, combining with the social and economic development in Guangdong Province,the paper comes up with the following six advices on how to build a fair and equitableincome distribution system, they are promoting regional coordinative developmentmechanism, strengthening the social vulnerable groups support mechanism, establishingequal opportunity mechanism, improving competition mechanism, perfecting the socialsecurity system, deepening the reform of the income distribution system. The aim is toform a scientific and rational income distribution system, and then make the income gapeventually be controlled within a reasonable range. All of these will play a positive rolein ensuring the income distribution justice, building a harmonious society and a happyGuangdong Province.
