Study On Pig-raising Cost Efficiency And Scale Selection In Shandong Province

The pig provinces, Shandong province of China,2011pig slaughter and pork productionin the province reached43.011million head and3.532million tons, China’s total hogslaughter and output respectively6.45%and6.97%, is ranked in4th place. While Shandong isthe country’s pig-raising province, but not pig-raising province, standardization of hogproduction levels, lower levels of modernization and industrialization, more pronouncedcyclical fluctuations, pig and pork quality and safety risks remained. Data by2000-2011pigscost-benefit in Shandong province, Shandong pig cost-benefit analysis of changing tendencyand influencing factors and made suitable for pig feeding size in Shandong province for sometime to come.In defining the pig rearing in this article on the basis of cost and scale, of the nationalagricultural products cost-benefit information (2000~2012) statistics, the first analysis offarmer’s backyard in Shandong province and cost trends and influencing factors of scale andapplication of grey situation decision method and concluded that for now and in the future fora period of time reasonable in Shandong province culture model. Study: in2000-2011,Shandong province farmer’s backyard and factors of scale feeding costs and cost trends arebasically the same cost elements in the feed, piglet, labor costs accounted for the largestproportion, labor costs as well as the expansion of the scale of gradually reducing. Variousdifferent factors affecting the breeding benefit of size, backyard and small-scale farmers,mainly through improving farming techniques, improving the ratio of feed structure, improvefeed efficiency. Small-scale farmers can also set up professional pig farming cooperatives toimprove the cost-benefit ratio. Medium-scale farmers and large-scale farmers andconcentrated effort to reach a number of labour inputs more saturated State, through theappropriate reduction of the labor force and concentrated effort or narrowing of theappropriate size. By grey situation decision analysis, scale size is most suitable forpig-breeding in Shandong province, followed by light and heavy, while the backyard is theleast suitable breeding patterns, should steer their backyard farmers in Shandong province toscale changes, vigorously developing small and medium-scale cultivation, and moderatedevelopment of mass culture. In order to reduce the prices of live pigs,the negative effects of price fluctuations on thepig-rearing, slow swings, ramping up support for pig industry of science and technology inShandong province, using technology to improve pig farming environment, achievingsustainable development of pig industry. Guiding farmers change the size, innovativepig-breeding organization, improve the level of organization of pig farming. Accelerating thedevelopment of feed industry and strengthen the disease control in terms of reduced externalshocks, pig slid towards a virtuous circle of track.
