| This article first reviews both domestic and foreign literature about rural urbanization, wediscover that the research focus of domestic and foreign scholars are more or less stem from amacro perspective, i.e. most of the foreign research is mainly about the origin of the theory ofurbanization as well as some basic views associated with it, especially the population migrationtheory, etc., while domestic research focuses on the explanation of the concept of urbanization,significance and existing problems, etc., others put forward the new way of urbanization, butthere is only a few article systematically studies the rural urbanization in a specific area, evenfewer concern about the rural urbanization in Fujian province. Such is also the starting point ofthis study.The article takes rural urbanization development of Fujian as research object, andLongmen town in Anxi county as an example, analyzing in details about the effectiveness andexisting problems of Longmen town in rural urbanization development, and about ruralurbanization development of Longmen town using SWOT. The article points that Anxi countyhas advantages in respects of regional transportation, land use, environmental resources,corporate development and agricultural characteristics, but disadvantages in shortage ofmodern technology input, not enough industrial supporting capability, obvious environmentalpollution problem and late start of third industry; in respect of opportunities, Anxi county hasthe strategic development opportunity, funding support, opportunity from national land usepolicy, support of technological talents; Regarding the threats, it has the pieces of developmentsignificantly will slow down, the production and operation of corporate will become moredifficult, and the issue of development capability shortage will become more prominent.In addition, this article also summarizes the main factors restricting the rural urbanizationof Fujian province, these unfavorable factors affected the urbanization of Fujian province,hindered the transfer of rural surplus labor force to towns and cities. Which can be summarized as follows: the conflict between huge capital demand in urban construction and lack of supplyfor it; the conflict between rapid expansion of city scale and lack of management skills, theland usage in the process of urbanization is also problematic, policy are not in place, theunderstanding of urbanization is also no sufficient. Finally, in tackling these factors, this paperputs forward some policy suggestions, including strengthen the economic power of cities andtowns, adjusting the structure of cities and towns, establishing rational urban system,strengthening the functions of the governments at all levels, do a better job in town planning,increase the intensity of financing, speeding up the urban infrastructure construction, deepenthe reform of the binary household registration system, etc. |
