Refers to the huge and attractive market, China provides many opportunities forother countries in both trade and investment. Thailand is very near to China and it isChina’s important trade partner. The cultural similarities between the two countries canpromote the trade and investment between them. According that Chinese people’sliving standards are keeping to rising, the demand and requirement for food are alsogoing up. Thus it provides a good opportunity for the development of Thai foodprocessing industry and food service industry. However, China and Thailand have somedifferences in culture and business environment. So it is meaningful to study theChinese business environment for Thai companies.The purpose of the thesis is to study the business environment of China for Thaifirms especially in the Thai Food industrial and emphasizes on some case studies ofThai Food business in China such as the successful business of C.P. Group (ZhengdaGroup/正大集团) and some new business of Thai restaurants by Thai owners in China.This thesis mainly analyzes the foreign investment, entry modes, managing thebusiness in China and the investment environment of China which gives some ideasthat managing business in China is also essential to know precisely on laws andregulations, finding the right partners, the knowledge on Chinese cultures-traditions-customs, the opportunities and constraints in the China market and etc. As these aresome main keys to success which firms need to adjust and adapt by the current worldsituation.The findings of the research are based on sources from private organizations andgovernment organizations, online published journals, published journals, other thesis,some research documents, text books, some reports, company year book, surveys, casestudies from the interviews which were recorded by some organizations, theresearcher’s personal interview by the face to face interviews (Thai Me Up restaurant in Qingdao, Jeed Jard Tamarind snack) and findings from other related sources toanalyze and demonstrate most of the important investment environment factors in acurrent time that Thai investors should know and apply to be able to understand thebusiness environment of China in order to do business in a pleasant way and in longrun will help improving the economics’ status of both China and Thailand.The thesis consists of6main chapters in total as of the followings:Chapter1introduces the background, value, purpose, contents, research method,the innovation and limitation of the thesis.Chapter2introduces the basic theory and related researches. This thesis studies theChinese business environment for Thai food business based on the theory of theory offoreign direct investment and entry mode. It analyzes the relationship between foreigndirect invest, entry mode, business environment and food business management and etc.It provides the basic foundation for the analysis of business environment for Thai foodbusiness in China. Thus we can know the Chinese business environment and the currentsituation of Thai business in China.Chapter3introduces the economics background of China in the macroeconomicsview, overview of the current FDI in China, the historical trade relations between Chinaand Thailand, The introduction of Thai Cuisine and Thai food business, the new trendof food business in China. It focuses on the food opportunities and developmentpotential for Thai food business in China.For chapter4, it is to discuss about the business environment of China (socio-cultural, political, economics, etc.) and factors influencing Thai firms to do business inChina.In chapter5, it is about the case studies analyses of some Thai firms in China whichare divided into3categories (successful business, high potential business and newbusiness). The case studies which were taken from the current Thai firms who are doingbusiness in China can help to broaden the idea and knowledge for the new comers tolearn from their experiences and know what they should do and should not do beforeentering to do business in China at the same time the case studies also help giving somemeaningful idea of the good visions from other people that can help inspire the people to think creatively, critically but at the same time the idea must be practical and sensibleto be able to do business in China successfully.Chapter6is to give the suggestion. Through the study of the basic theories, theexperience and shortcomings of Thai business in China and case studies and also somesuggestions for the investment and management of Thai business which can offer someideas for the new Thai firms and other people who are interested in doing business inChina.Chapter7is the conclusion of the thesis that summarizes all vital information ofdoing business in China for Thai firms.The researcher hopes that this thesis could motivate more firms from Thailand toinvest in China especially in the field of the food and restaurant businesses which is avery high potential of the good business in China that is very large with very highpopulations. Thai firms and China can gain mutual benefits for the two countries at thesame time indirectly exchanging the beautiful cultures between the two countries andhelp developing the sustainable long term relationship which will help raise the regionaland world economics situation in a pleasant way.
