Abstract:With financial globalization and China’s rapid economic growth, residents’ personal wealth to accumulate, the retail banking business has become an important area of competition by the commercial banks, and its rising status and role. The retail banking business to achieve economies of scale and economies of scope of the bank, to become the main source of profit growth in the commercial banks. However, the commercial banks to a single pursuit of profit as maximizing the value orientation of the operation of retail banking, is not conducive to the healthy development of the retail banking business transformation and lasting, and is exacerbated by the uneven distribution of social harmony and unity is not conducive to the economic construction and social construction. Social and public values to guide the development of retail banking is particularly important in this context.
