Evaluation Of Marine Industry Structure And Competitiveness Of Marine Economic Regions In China

The21st century is a new era that human exploit marine resources comprehensively andwith multiple perspectives.The coastal countries see the marine industry as a strategicindustry.We need to set out from various aspects such as the strategy,talent pool andtraining,and related policy system and technical innovation and so on to promote marineindustry competitiveness.Marine industry plays an important role in support of economicgrowth in the coastal countries.With in-depth and comprehensive evaluation of the marineindustry competitiveness,associated problems of the marine industry in the process of thedevelopment in China’s marine economic regions will show one by one.We need to analysisthe reason for the problem to find out the key factors affecting the development of marineindustry in China’s marine economic regions,so as to improve the formation of the marineindustry development in China.Eleven coastal provinces and cities in our country will be divided into six marineeconomic regions in this article：the marine economic region around Bohai Sea,Yangtze riverdelta marine economic region,the Pearl river delta marine economic region,Hercynian marineeconomic region,Hainan marine economic region and Beibu gulf rim marine economicregion.First it expounds on the related concepts and theory of the marine industry.On thisbasis, it analyses the developing present situation of marine industry in the six marineeconomic regions in China and illustrates the advantages and disadvantages and then theproblems appeared in the development of marine industry in the marine economic regions.Second, based on three times of marine industry,it analyzes the marine industrialstructure and competitiveness of marine economic regions in China by shift-share methodfrom the perspective of marine industrial structure. Then it analyses of the whole marineindustry comprehensively and classify the marine industry of six marine economic regionsinto different types.Third, it constructs the marine industry competitiveness index systemfrom four aspects and collects the relevant data from2006to2011. It adopts the method ofcombining subjective and objective empowerment.It analyses and estimates marine industrycompetitiveness form four aspects in six marine economic regions by using principalcomponent analysis to calculate the primary index score.And then it uses the analytichierarchy process to calculate weight of the first-level index,and obtains marine industry competitiveness comprehensive scores by using the weighted sum.It makes the evaluationand comparative analysis of the marine industry competitiveness of the marine economicregions and classify the six marine economic regions into different types.The research shows that: the marine economic region around Bohai Sea,Yangtze riverdelta marine economic region and the Pearl river delta marine economic region belong to themarine economic regions which have strong marine industry competitiveness. The pearl riverdelta marine economic region has more obvious overall growth advantage and the marineeconomic region around Bohai Sea has stronger industrial structure advantage.Hercynianmarine economic region belongs to the marine economic region that has general marineindustry competitiveness,but it has the best overall growth advantage of marineindustry.Hainan marine economic region and Beibu gulf rim marine economic region belongto the marine economic regions that has weak marine industry competitiveness,and they haveno advantage in the overall growth of the national marine industry.Finally,it makes some countermeasures and suggestions to the direction of thedevelopment and mode of marine industry from several aspects including the marinestatistical work, giving full play to the advantages of marine resources rationally, optimizingthe industrial structure, enhancing the level of science and technology, paying attention to themarine environment protection and strengthening the land as a whole.
