Since reform and opening up in1979, great changes have taken place in Chinese bankingsystem. Especially in recent years, with further reform of Chinese financial system, theoperating environment of commercial banks is increasingly complex and the competitionbetween banks has intensified. Moreover, the traditional banking model suffered seriouschallenges. Therefore, the domestic banking industry is actively exploring new developmentmodel to face the potential problems. Commercial bank networks as important service windowand product sales channels; they take responsibilities in the bank’s strategy transformation,which has attracted more and more attention from the domestic commercial banks.From now on, one of the most important and necessary step is mining the potentialfunction of banking networks. There are a number of domestic commercial banks havedeveloped positive research and preliminary exploration in order to better understand how toimplement the optimum management. Lean management has gradually extended fromtraditional production system management to all kinds of wider business areas. It maximizesshareholders value through improving customer satisfaction, reducing cost of capital,improving business efficiency and optimizing capital structure. In the specific context ofbanking networks, it means utilizing network’s strengths, optimizing the application ofresources, and maximizing each network’s unique advantage to increase its core competition.The dissertation summarized the problems in implementing lean management of GDbank Suzhou branch. Based on the new trend of the lean management development, SuzhouGD bank combined its actual situation with its own characteristics, to establish incentive andrestraint mechanisms of discussion. It aimed Suzhou GD bank to further improve the optimummanagement, to play an important role in product sales channels and network service window,and then to achieve "high effective and efficiency management" objective.
