It is very obvious that the construction industry is a pillar industry in our courtry. Theshortage of skilled talents in construction industry has a very significant negative impact oneconomic development. It has seriously hindered the development of the constructionindustry.Researchers all over the world have done a lot of theoretical study on the shortage ofskilled talents especially senior skilled talents. However it is very rare to see any studies onthis issue in construction industry. The construction industry has its special way ofemployment and labor. In terms of the investment in human capital, construction workers,construction companies and the government play completely different roles from otherindustries. So the solution is different from other industries.First of all, this paper analyzes the characteristics of the constrution industry, the speciallabor pattern and the employment pattern. Then it discusses the reasons of the shortage ofskilled talents in construction industry. In order to solve the problem of the shortage of skilledtalents, this paper lists the cultivating patterns to skilled talents in some developed courtriessuch as Singapore, the U.S., Germany, and Hong Kong in our courtry. Finally, this papersums up a cultivating pattern according to the situation of our courtry in terms of educationsystem, training, professional qualification certificate and legislation.
