Analysis And Solution Design Of Informatization For Ethiopian Agricultural Extension

There are nearly one billion smallholders in developing countries, who suffer from low productivity and food security problems. The Fundamental way for this problem is transfer technologies into productivity, and the key issue is agricultural extension. With the rapid development of ICTs, it is important to apply these technologies to agricultural extension. In this way. we can Integrate all aspects of research resources, and then improve the conditions and achieve mechanism innovation. Inspired by this idea, this paper applied the knowledge of agricultural extension and ICTs, to analyze and design a solution for Ethiopian agricultural extension Informatization.At first, this paper analyzed the theoretical knowledge of agricultural extension, including defining modern means of agricultural extension, analysis of the dynamic model, main ways of extension and some noteworthy issues. Secondly, this paper analyzed ICTs related issues, with states of agricultural extension informatization components, as well as induction of typical cases.Based on the above research, the paper made a systematic analysis of the present situation on Ethiopian Agricultural Extension Informatization. By researching the agricultural extension in Ethiopia, the paper found out the problems that existed at operational mechanism, human resources, infrastructures and institutional framework levels. Then this paper surveyed the condition of ICT environment, especially the existing informatization projects. As a result, this paper raised several typical problems faced by Ethiopian agricultural extension.On the basis, this paper designed the solution program for Ethiopian agricultural extension informatization. To face the problems, integrate advanced resources and make the mechanism smooth, this paper came up with development targets, main tasks, regional distribution and priority projects in consideration of informatization construction.Analysis and solution design of informatization for Ethiopian agricultural extension applied the knowledge of agricultural extension and ICTs comprehensively. It adjusted measures to local conditions, with the features of easily-realization, low-cost and localization. It’s a innovation initiative for ICTs on agricultural extension.
