Since the twenty-first century, with China’s economy continues to expand, and the total national consumption power’s continuous rise, the credit card business has a rapid development. Credit card as a quick and active tool in all types of online and offline payment channels has become an essential payment tool of people nowadays. However, because of the development of the short credit card development history, China’s commercial banks are lack of management experience. Due to such limiting factors, Chinese commercial banks’current capacity and measures on controlling the credit card risk still have some shortcomings. The purpose of this study is to give some new opinions of credit card fraud risk management through analysis and research; to reduce the risk of fraud losses on credit cards, to improve the efficiency of the credit card business for ICBC.Firstly,this paper describes the development model and features of the credit card industry, leads to the major risk types of credit card business, and pointed out that the main risk of the credit card is fraud which is currently showing a growing trend. After the introduction of various types of risks, the article put great emphasis on credit card fraud risks, and analyze the reasons of credit card fraud risk in detail. On this basis, the current methods and models of ICBC on assessing the risk of fraud is described. Through the international credit card fraud risk analysis of current trends, as well as ICBC existing fraud risk management measures analysis to identify the current lack of ICBC management.Finally, according to the domestic and foreign literature related theory and relevant management experience from abroad, suggestions below for ICBC credit card fraud risk management are made. From the system level, strengthen the construction of the internal control system, to avoid and prevent from the operational risk. From the technical level, we can improve the ability to use technological means for risk prevention; From the management philosophy, learn from foreign advanced management experience and methods; From staff management, improve the quality of employees and risk awareness.I hope the research and recommendations of this article, can provide new research ideas and perspectives for ICBC to guard against the risk of credit card fraud and remove obstacles to the long-term healthy development of the credit card business.
