Since1983, the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations submitthe concept of “food security”, the problem of food security has attract the eyes ofglobal people. Especially China, who own22%of the world population but only7%of the cultivated land resources, food security is extremely important. Especially afterthe American scholar Lester Brown predicted there would be a huge gap betweenChinese food supplies and demands,“who will feed China?”and “How to feed theChina?”have become more and more popular. In fact, China’s scholars have in-depthstudy on this issue. But the solution study almost all around the improvement ofagricultural technology, reasonable irrigation water, and cultivated land use. In fact, inmy opinion, the key point to solve the food security problem is cultivated landresources. Both the role of main agricultural technology or water resource are act onthe land, only to solve the land problem will the food security problems can resolveradically.Under the market economy system, reasonable use of the market is the advantageto solve the problem. If we cannot resolve the problem focus on the our country, wecan focus on the world. So the concept of “virtual land trade strategy” is submitted. Inthis strategy, we have two aspects to resolve the problem: imported food andagricultural “going out”. According to the principle of the wooden barrel, identify theshort board can quickly solve the problem. So the paper selected Guangdong Province, who has the most relatively serious problem, to discuss. If we can solve the seriouspart of the problem, we can solve the whole smoothly and easily. This paper can be divided into three parts, the first part is the chapter one andtwo, the second part is the third chapter, and the last part is chapter four to six.The first part: In this part, I introduce the background of Guangdong Province onfood security and virtual cultivated land firstly in the first chapter. And thenintroduces the research meaning, research value and research method. Finally, puttingforward the innovation and drawbacks of this research. In the second chapter, I introduce the domestic and foreign current research situation for this problem. The second part: In this part, I define the concepts of food security, virtualcultivated land and virtual land strategy firstly. And the I introduce the related theoriesof this passage: comparative advantage theory and H-O theory, which in order to pavethe way for the following discussion. The third part: This part is mainly about the discussion of the virtual cultivatedland strategy to solve the food security problem of Guangdong Province. In this part, Iintroduce the current status of Guangdong Province, including natural environment, population, cultivated land resources and grain yield in the forth chapter firstly.
