In recent years, our government has promoted a succession of the maininfrastructures which has driven the whole domestic construction market.But as mostof the projects have a long time-limit,a wide involved personnel and various variablesof engineering environment, it’s hard to avoid the project disputes which are usuallyinduced by the fact that the dispute parties cannot solve the engineering problemsfairly, reasonably and honestly.Nowadays, as engineering dispute cases are increasing, it will make greatsignificance to research the construction situation faced by Chinese engineeringindustry and explore a way to solve it totally, which is also the initial motivation towrite this paper. And most of the time, in order to reduce the unessential cost andmake full use of the social effects caused by construction investment, it is necessaryfind out the factors which will influence the later decision on the dispute, such as themediation, arbitration, litigation and so on. This essay is organized as follows:firstly, summarizing the25factors which affect the decision-making process ofengineering dispute by studying the existing literature and considering about theconcrete situation. Then, asking more than300experts to score on the factors to findthe most important ones. The experts come from different sides, such as owner,contractor, subcontractor an advisory unit. Factor analysis will then be used toeliminate four factors and the remaining factors will be classified to six commonfactors, including efficiency factor, social environment, item background,organization factor, decision maker and the strength of evidence. After that, this essayalso analyzes the key factors that will influence the decision of the various types ofrespondents and conclude their characteristics in solving engineering dispute. Thisstep is also based on data analysis and processing.In the end， the paper has provide a model of the engineering-dispute-decision-game under the result above. From the beginning of the dispute tothe end solution，the model has analysised key factors of the dispute. It is helpful todirect the dispute party to analysis the dispute form every side. So they can take the main elements to make the decision of adjustment or arbitration.
