This paper discusses the design and implementation of the optical cable fault location system software. An improved modulus maximum wavelet denoising method is proposed, and the algorithm is simulated by Matlab software, which verifies the effectiveness of the algorithm.And then introduce the characteristics of the detection method of cable fault signal event, according to the cable fault location demand combined with optical fiber cable for Expressway Qiangai engineering characteristics is the system in the event of singular point determination process, analysis of the cable fault signal feature extraction algorithm, the broken fiber obstacle localization algorithm, attenuation increases fault location algorithm and the MATLAB simulation, for the next write software system has laid a solid foundation. Using VB6.0 as the main programming tools to write the cable fault location system software interface, including the main interface design, interface design of VB and MATLAB, the design of configuration management, system management and design, positioning calculation design, design safety management, fault management design and perfor-mance management design, and gives the code examples and the interception of the part of the application program interface. Finally, the software test and result analysis of the optical cable fault location system are carried out.
