Hospital information management gradually increased with the sharp increase of hospital scale, which gives the hospital a greater difficulty in the work. The way of traditional semi-automated management is low efficiency, time-consuming, poor timeliness to treat hospital information. And it is difficult to find and maintain for huge hospital information data. Therefore, it is necessary to strengthen the research of advanced computer technology, make full use of existing hospital information resources and build a set of perfect Hospital Information Management System(HIMS).In order to realize the automation, intelligent and efficient construction of HIMS, firstly, the shortcomings of the current construction of HIMS are expounded in this paper. The research status of domestic and foreign HIMS is analyzed and the meaning of building HIMS is discussed. Secondly, the related technologies involved in this paper are described, such as B/S architecture, C# programming language, ASP.NET technology, SQL Server database technology etc.. Then, the goal of HIMS, the feasibility and the overall demand of the system are analyzed deeply. And the functional requirements of the system are analyzed in detail, including outpatient management, hospital management function, charge management function, drug management function and system management function demand. At the same time, the non-functional requirements of the system are analyzed. The HIMS are developed and designed on this basis. A set of HIMS based on B/S structure is designed and each function module and databases of the system are designed in detail. Finally, the realization of each function module of the system is expounded. The effect of each function module of the system is verified through test cases. The various functions of the system are achieved and a set of superior HIMS is developed successfully.The HIMS designed and developed in this paper consists of a number of modules and each module is cooperated with each other. Outpatient management module can realize the fast registration, pricing, a doctor’s prescription and other functions. Hospital management module can realize bed management in hospital, physician’s order management, patient discharge management, and other functions. Drug management module can deal with the quality of drugs taken into or out of the warehouse, stock shortage, and other functions. HIMS can realize the information sharing and interaction. The hospital information resources can be shared and interacted conveniently and efficiently through the network. It makes the hospital information management more standard and moderate. Its application value and practical significance are both important.
