Along with the requirement of smart, convenient and comfortable home environment, the research in the field of intelligent home appliances is growing. Nevertheless, a lot of smart appliances currently on the market are expensive and complicated. A lot of flashy features are added. To solve these problems, this dissertation study on a smart appliance control system solution. This system will be very practical. It only integrates the most practical basic home control functions. On the basis of realizing the function, try to explore more cost-effective and feasible ways to make the system.The MCU of the system is STC90C516RD+. The GSM module is based on SIM900 A. This system is estabilished on GSM networks. The GSM communication network has range coverage, good quality and high stability. The system communicate based on GSM. In others words, there is no need to build a network. This scheme has the following advantages: it is based on the existing network, there is no need to buy other equipment; the mode of operation is simple by SMS sending; the GSM network has broad scope application.The SIM900 A and the MCU communicate via UART. The operations rely on the AT command set. This dissertation studies the AT command set, to achieve the SMS, telephone call answering and other remote communication module programs. The SMS text that users send contains users’ identification information and a variety of command parameters. To be able to parse the data, the content of the short message format protocol is designed in detail. The protocol is designed to accurately express the most information in minimal bytes, and to make the system scalable. The authentication and command parsing module are realized based on the protocol. To make the system have the ability to manipulate d ifferent types of appliances, we designed an infrared signal emitted by the remote control software simulation. The infrared code is stored in the AT24C02 chip. And a decoding program is designed to learn new infrared code.The DS1302, DS18B20, HD44780 and other chips have been applied in the system. The communication protocols include IIC, SPI, single serial communication protocol. In this dissertation, we study the communication protocol and chip timing, and implement the corresponding driver programs. When reading and writing into the chips, DS18B20 automatically generate the CRC code by hardware and DHT11 has check code. In order to verify the correctness of the data transferred in read/write operations, the system design the CRC and check code software generation algorithm. In addition, the system contains a sensor network that can detect the environmental parameters, to realize roboticized and intelligent. In these ways, the system has many basic functions, such as remote control, energy saving, environment intelligent, alarm.Finally, the dissertation implements all of the above modules. And the system runs well. The intelligent home appliance system is closely stick to the practical application requirements, operates stably, with multiple functions, low cost and simple operating mode, has a certain practical significance and broad application prospects.
