Considering the increasingly rigorous traditional radar safety problem. Radar-communication integration based on satellite platform becomes a new trend in research field. In this paper, based on the situation of satellites as transmitters and earth facilities as recivers, a research about a shared signal design which are available for the combination of satellite communication and moving target detection and SAR is studied.The satellite signal design of radar-communication integration employing OFDM frame is studied. Signal parameters shared by both application is analyzed for integration signal design as protocol. Application scenarios of the integration signal is studied. Signal generation process is designed for the integration signal. Synthetic aperture radar(SAR) using the integration signal is studied. Satellite communication and moving target detection and SAR is accomplished simultaneously using the signal we designed in this paper. Parameters applied in the integration signal for communication part is studied on its infection for radar. Radar resolution is deduced using the integration signal. The ambiguity function of the integration signal is deduced to achieve a better performance on radar sensing and imaging, especially the scatter pilot and continual pilot part. The questions on how to choose OFDM modulation parameters which affect both radar and communication are analyzed. The signal design criteria are not only accuracy of distance and speed measurements for radar sensing and imaging but also data rate and data error rate for communication channel. An optimization algorithm based on RD for SAR applying the integration signal is deduced in this paper. Finally, an optimum solution for both applications is proposed and its simulations for moving target detection, SAR and image transmission indicate the practical feasibility of radar-communication integration.
