With the rapid development of information technology, target threats and electromagnetic environment is becoming more complex. The integration of electronic equipment is an effective way to reduce the volume of the war platform and electromagnetic interference. At the same time, technological developments make it possible to integrate radar and communication system, which can conserve the spectrum resources, reduce the platform volume and cost, and also improve the utilization rate of the equipment through sharing equipment. In this paper, the design of OFDM-based integrated radar-communication signal and the PMEPR-reduction technique are studied.Firstly, the feasibility of integrated realization of radar communication is analyzed, and the spectrum sharing technology with higher spectrum utilization is selected for further study. The integration scheme of radar and communication based on OFDM signal and MCPC signal are expounded, simulated, and compared with each other. It appears that the MCPC shared signal can obtain better radar ambiguity function and communication error rate. Then, the PMEPR-reduction techniques for the MCPC based joint signal are studied.Different clipping techniques used in the traditional radar or communication system is analyzed. And a new PMEPR reduction method for the integrated signal is proposed. The integrated signal structure is adjusted by the idea of unused tone method and the appropriate coding of idle carriers method is selected. The simulation result shows that the technique not only reduces the signal PMEPR to 2,but also can guarantee the radar ambiguity function and the communication BER performance, and it is suitable for the PMEPR-reduction of the integrated signal. Finally,a new adaptive design method of MCPC-based joint signal using matched illumination is proposed. The BER performance is taken into account in the algorithm, and the SNR of MCPC-based receiver integrated system is optimized under the premise of reducing PMEPR of transmit signal. The simulation result shows that the SNR of the integrated transmit signal is improved by about 8dB and the PMEPR is reduced to 3.6,which can effectively improve the overall performance of the integrated radar and communication system.
