With the continuous development of computer science and wireless communication technology, a large number of heterogeneous wireless networks in different structure, various environment, and individual application areas have sprung up. And with the rise of technology in big data and Io T, people’s requirements to network are also more and more high, which causes that single network environment will not be able to satisfy the user’s diverse levels of demand and that how to interconnect heterogeneous wireless network in order to provide users with more convenient, smart efficient s ervice has become one of the research hotspots in the field of information technology.In order to achieve a better integration of heterogeneous networks, in this paper, the characteristics of LAN, 3G, WLAN, WSN, MESH and WPAN and the software and hardware technology to interconnect the six kinds of heterogeneous networks were discussed. And to solve the problems in old system such as poor operating performance, low reliability and poor presentation effect, a new heterogeneous network interconnection system is designed and implemented to realizes the interconnection between six kinds of heterogeneous networks better.In this paper, based on the dual core hardware architecture of STM32 and FPGA, the heterogeneous network interconnection system is re-designed, and the advantages of STM32 and FPGA are used respectively to improve the processing capability and scalability of the whole system. The communication protocol of interconnect platform is re-designed to enhance the interconnect capacity of the platform, the composite Multimode algorithm was optimized to enhance the fairness of the platform scheduling, The seamless switching mechanism of heterogeneous network interconnection system was designed to improve the system reliability, at last, the heterogeneous network demonstration subsystem is designed and developed to improve the system visualization degree. Finally we took a full testing including function and performance and the results show that the interconnected system realizes the function of six kinds of heterogeneous networks, and the system interconnection ability, multi-mode composite algorithms, and visualization of system reliability have greatly improved.The study of this thesis shows that it realizes the interconnection between six kinds of heterogeneous networks and has better performance in interconnection effect and system stability which contributes to theoretical and practical research.
