As one of fundamental technologies of the internet of things,location aware technology has been widely used in emergency rescue,tracing,intelligent transportation,logistics management and medical care.All of these applications must be supported by seamless location technology with high precision in indoor and outdoor environment.This paper focused on the continual and precise location technology for the large-scale and complex constructions in indoor and outdoor environment.The seamless switching is based on the idea of virtual sub-net of WSN,while the seamless integration of different localization methods based on heterogeneous network of GPS/WSN/WLAN is proposed in this paper.The methods are able to solve the problem of seamless location in indoor and outdoor mixed region,in order to improve the accuracy of the region covered by the unreliable signals,to provide both the theoretical and technical foundation for the localization implementation of the whole construction.Besides,a demon of seamless indoor and outdoor localization system for large-scale buildings is proposed in this paper.The contributions of this paper can be concluded as follows:1.To solve the problem of seamless switch between indoor and outdoor scenarios in large-scale and complex constructions,a kind of"virtual sub-net of WSN" technology is proposed,utilizing the concept of sub-net in telecommunication systems.Based on that,a strategy used to determine the switch according to the moving direction is provided.And the algorithm used to switch between indoor floors with the assistant gridding information is proposed too,which aimed to solve the problem of unreliable signal coverage between the edges of floors.2.Multi-level loosely coupled seamless integration methods is proposed,as well as the positioning strategies using the federal Kalman filter technology with the combination of GPS/WSN/WLAN integrate location system to solve the problem of seamless location in indoor and outdoor mixed region.3.Seamless indoor and outdoor location system for large buildings base on the conclusion of last two sections is designed and implemented in this paper.
