Research On The Integration Of Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) And ORACLE Middleware Products (BPM)

This paper mainly discusses the operational analysis and technology implementation of system integration, that is the project about integration of the Oracle middle ware products(BPM) and the existing laboratory information management system(LIMS).Beijing Institute of Medical Device Testing found some flaws and weaknesses of the system when using star LIMS system, such as curing business process, closed technology platform, aging software technology and difficulties of data query and statistics. To solve these problems, we decided to improve and optimize the existing LIMS system.Through the detailed research of product and technical, Oracle middleware BPM, a platform meeting the needs of our business system integration, was found, which can achieve the systems integration and performance optimization across multiple platforms through SOA, JSB and other advanced technology framework,based on J2 EE BPM standard technology system of Java. Through analysis and modeling of business process BPM can achieve rapidly build process, and can make flexible adjustment and change on the process, and has its own unique advantages in data statistics and knowledge management. The key research content of this project includes two aspects. One is the management of laboratory process, which separate the business process from laboratory data management, via combing through the business process of laboratory testing services, and use process modeling for refining business processes, achieving through the BPMN workflow engine component built by Oracle middleware platform. The other is the data management, which integrate with other relative independent management module of laboratory data, and complete the functional reorganization of the laboratory management in order to improve the maintainability and scalability of laboratory procedures management, and loose coupling between other relatively independent modules and inspection process. And in the data statistics and analysis, using the BAM component of Oracle Middleware present the key statistical data in real time, and provide the data analysis and strong support for the change trend of the future. The project makes full use of the workflow management, BPM statistics, knowledge management and other advantages of BPM, and solve the existing defects of LIMS system,like curing process, statistics and information management, to build a unified, safe,and efficient business information portal platform. Now, the project has been running for a year and a half with good user feedback, officially launched in May 2014.
