With the development of computer technology, wireless sensor networks technology, embedded technology, the multiple technology fusion of embedded systems are widely applied in people’s production and living. With the continuous improvement of industrialization and rapid development of economic in China,it has caused serious environmental pollution and safety issues,such as haze shrouded, harmful gas leaking, fire disaster and burglary indoor and so on, it has threated Seriously to people’s health and property safety.Therefore, people’s demand of more comfortable, healthier and safer indoor environment is becoming increasingly high.The current environmental monitoring technology and equipment is lagging behind, the detection method is too single and small scope to achieve effective real-time monitoring of the indoor environment. The performance of embedded indoor environment monitoring system that based on wireless sensor network technology is more superior, with the advantages of low cost, flexible networking, simple wiring and good expansibility.This paper presents the plan of wireless indoor environment monitoring system based on ARM and ZigBee, the system mainly consists of S3C2440 processor and CC2530 wireless network module, picks up the Linux operating system, Selects the indoor temperature and humidity, gas leak and condition monitoring environment parameters as monitoring objects, and it can achieve the indoor environment and security situation in real-time monitoring, it also have the function of remote monitoring and network video monitoring. This paper firstly introduce the research status of environmental monitoring, analyse system mission requirements and design the system overall scheme, then complete the analysis and selection of the system hardware platform and design related circuits. Then complete the transplant of Linux system to ARM, and also transplant somg software tools, to set up the development environment of underlying software. Finally, elaborate system application design and development, including indoor environment information acquisition and wireless transmission, network video monitoring program, ARM data processing program, etc., Complete the design of the graphical user interface and network remote monitoring platform.Through the functional test of the system, the result shows that the system can satisfy the functional requirements, and achieve the desired effect. Finally the realized functions are: 1) the indoor environment information acquisition and wireless network transmission; 2) the indoor environment real time local monitoring; 3) the indoor environment remote monitoring and remote video monitoring.
