Reading Therapy Research In Personality Formation Of College Students

On the basis of feasibility of shaping students’ healthy personality with the application of Bibliotherapy,the researcher used the cartel 16 PF Personality Test and self-designed questionnaire of students’ s reading conditions,investigate 405 students from across the country about their personality trait and reading conditions. Personality Traits of College Students Survey : College Students’ s overall score high on the personality of tension,sensitivity,anxiety of these factors,and score low in the factors of stability,independence;differences in year and profession are little,but differences in gender is obvious. College Students Reading survey:contemporary college students have the habit of reading,they have a good understanding of the purpose of reading,and they read to achieve healing of trauma or self-improvement. With a cross-analysis,the researcher found that:Students interest for reading,purpose and awareness of the significance of reading have significant relation with students’ s traits of stability,perseverance,anxiety;Based on undergraduates’ s personality investigation and analysis of the situation of reading,the researcher correspondingly proposed a overall target of use reading therapy to shape students’ personality and the goal to shape the personality of college students by gender differences;Based on the survey of students’ reading conditions,the research regards the college students’ s manner of reading as the advantages of using reading therapy;Based on the cross-analysis,the researcher found the relations between reading and personality traits,which may provide revelations when put into practice.To further validate the ability of reading therapy in personality shaping,the researcher conducted a intervene which include two college students who have specific problems and hope to improve their personality,and designed targeted programs of reading therapy as an intervention.According to the students’ change in cognition,emotion,behavior and their feedback,assess the effect of reading treatment in both phases and overall,the researcher draw a conclusion that reading treatment plays a shaping role in psychological problems,helping students reducing the extent of tension,anxiety,and improving the personality of stability and gregarious.Meanwhile,by introspecting the process of treatment,the researcher propose that when apply reading therapy to shape students’ personality, we need to pay attention to the traits of consultant and promote college students’ concept of reading,help them to establish a sense of reading therapy,and literary works should play an important role in the treatment.
