This thesis work describes the development of Online ID card management system, this system is an online application that can be accessed throughout the organization and outside as well, user can access this system with proper login details provided to the user during registration. The thesis focuses mainly on the online identification card management for students. Obtaining an ID card involves completing an online application detailing students name, program, major, school registration number, year of graduation, signature and a photograph, there is also identification card replacement functionality which involves writing an application and uploading an affidavit from police station.The web application is developed based on 3 tier architecture, that consists of the presentation tier, logic or business tier and data tier, it was developed using techniques and objects that dynamically design a flat form enabling interaction between three actors being the student, operator and administrator. Applicants should be able to register their login information in the form provided before they could gain access to apply ID card page. Student affairs representatives act as operators may also accessing formation put up by applicants and view their detail information to verify and approve the issuance and printing of their ID card. Lastly, administrators have total control on the system for report generation, user account management and approved ID card printing.The system was designed to have the view of distributed architecture, with centralized storage of the database, application for the storage of the data was planned using the constructs of MySQL Server, while the user interfaces have been designed using the ASP.Net technologies. The database connectivity was designed using the "SQL Connection" methodology as it provides good security and data protective mechanisms. This methodology was used throughout the system as it conforms to strategies and standards that were put forward by the administrative staff.The thesis investigates the manual system in detail with the aim of finding ways to automate it. Happily, the final result of the processing expert system was its ability to produce an easy way of applying, application processing, issuing ID cards, issuing replacement cards, application approval and retrieving the application data to provide summary of the ID card information for a particular student...
