Since the modern and contemporary publishing organization came into being, publishing agency as a comprehensive social organization for the generation and dissemination of speech, plays a unique role in the process of promoting social development and change, inspiring people’s wisdom and awareness. Especially in the era of transition from the old to the new, launches a process of rising cacophony, whether the publishing organization could discern the historical trend or grasp the core value of the era and make positive response, will determine the existence significance and historical position of a publication agency. As a publishing organization of the speech communication and ideological trends collision, the changing fate of the Commercial Press in the New Culture Movement is typically identified that has the complex relationship of mutual influence and interaction with the social trends of thought. In the early stage of the New Culture Movement, the Commercial Press which is failing to make an effectively respond to this trend of thought with great change and vanguard nature, has been a target for renovation and criticism. The valuable of the Commercial Press is that it can calmly look at themselves and reflect on themselves in the course of criticisms and attacks, then it actively makes adjustments to fit the pulse of the times. Subsequently, in order to adapt to the development of the New Culture Movement and occupy a favorable position in the field of new culture, the Commercial Press not only actively seeks cooperation with the core leadership of the New Culture Movement, but also consciously carrys out its own reform and innovation.This paper is composed of introduction, main part of three chapters and conclusion.Introduction is to study the current states and the research meaning of the Commercial Press and the field theory of Bourdieu.The first chapter is based on the Commercial Press which suffers the impact of public opinion and the pressure of reality in the early stage of the New Culture Movement, discusses the necessity and the importance of its reform. In the transitional period of social change, the Commercial Press as an important organization of spreading ideology and culture changes their spots of its own institutions, institutions,personnel as well as periodical. For its own progress and development, the Commercial Press makes an inevitable choice in the process of adapting to the trend of the times.In the second chapter, bases on the high degree of congruence between the reformed Commercial Press and Literature Research Union in cultural spirit, social position and literary pursuit, emphatically discusses mutual cooperation and promotion of the two during the New Culture Movement. Literature Research Union whose purpose is to awaken the public, needs to use an extensive influence publishing agency to expand their readers, and the Commercial Press hopes through introduction the cultural capital of Literature Research Union to improve their position in the field of the New Culture Movement. So the Novel Monthly turns into their cooperation platform, and becomes one of the important forces to promote the New Culture Movement to further development.The third chapter explores the relationship between the Commercial Press and Peking University to expand the discussion, analyzes the historical and realistic origin of their cooperation. As the leader of academic and intellectual circle, Peking University provides the Commercial Press a writer team with advanced thinking and innovation consciousness and theoretical resources, while the Commercial Press which occupied half market of publishing press provides effective channel resources and a wide range of readers for Peking University, the mutual reciprocity and benefit made them as the "Gemini" of the New Culture Movement.Epilogue is back to the full text, the reform in order to adapt to the development trend of the New Culture Movement which made by the commercial press will be interpreted, what the function and the role of reformed Commercial Press played in the New Culture Movement will be explained.
