The scale of scheduling data for power dispatching is rapidly growingwith the rapid development of electric power dispatching system. How to guarantee and improve the security, efficiency and stability of the electrical power system has become an important research subject in electric power industry. As one of the core parts of smart electric grid, the operation management system (OMS) realized the integrity of power network at provincial, municipal and county levels. The OMS system has an important role in the construction of smart power grids. In this thesis, a post-evaluation of the development of the OMS software system developed by Tongfang Company are performed. The deficiencies expressed in the development of the OMS are clarified. The suggestions for improving software development quality are proposed according to software quality management theory and model.In this work, the principles of software quality models and software project management have been reviewed and the major problems affecting the quality of OMS system are analyzed by software quality models and Pareto chartbased on the real user feedback and the combination of survey, interview and case methods. Analysis results show that the major problems of the OMS system appeared mainly in the requirements development, design, implementation and software testing phases of the software development. The quality management issuesoccurred in the requirements development, design, implementation and testing phases of the OMS developmentare deeply studied. It is pointed out that the OMS need to be improved in the following aspects,shortening the period of prototype, requirement change management,interface design,software development monitoring, user participation during testing, training for project team, configuration management, etc. Based on user feedback to explore the quality management problems those occurred during the software development process can further improve the quality of software products. This study has certain utilized and guiding significance for improving the OMS system and other software development projectsin Tongfang Company.
