Civil aviation career is an important part of modern service industry, which is playing an increasing important role in social life, it is closely related to people’s life, so the security problem of the spacecraft is also becoming more and more important. Foreign object debris is called FOD, it is likely in the airport runway and damages the aircraft. FOD detection radar antenna can detect these foreign objects, but itself must rely on a rotating carrier can detect large area of the runway effectively. Turntable control system can be used as the carrier of FOD detection radar antenna, it is mounted on both sides of the runway at the airport and can drive the radar antenna, complete the foreign object detection which is in the airport runway. We design a turntable control system with high location accuracy and speed stability and low cost according to the requirements of a scientific research project, the concrete research content is as follows:1. Based on the system of technical indicators and functional requirements to determine the overall design scheme of turntable, analysis the working theory of the turntable and the design of the turntable mechanical structure, and then choose devices used in the rotary table.2. Design hardware boards according to the function requirements of turntable, the board uses STM32+FPGA dual processor collaborative design thought; introduces the design of each functional module respectively and gives the specific circuit principle diagram.3. According to the requirements of the turntable’s structure and working theory, design the speed loop and position loop feedback control strategy, establish the mathematical model of turntable system, analyze the steady-state error of the system and use PI regulator to make correction system, simulation experiment was carried out in MATLAB; analyze the causes of errors of photoelectric encoder, choose reasonable filter processing algorithm for error.4. Turntable software adopts modular programming ideas, the software is divided into several functional modules; then introduces the software development environment and the design of the turntable PC software.5. Turntable works together with the loading system to conduct checking work; since it works in special environment, to test its reliability, it proceed not only high and low temperature test but also high temperature and humidity test, and passed successfully. Field experiment is carried out at the airport and gets better result.Finally, summarizes the research results of this design and puts forward the shortage and improvement methods, if the design is widely used, it will be great help for the development of our country’s civil aviation career.
