As an important power servo device, turntable system is widely used in engineering measurement field. Radar scatterometer is a kind of measuring instrument which is used for measuring back scattering coefficient of radar targets. When the scatterometer is used for measuring, it always need to adjust the antenna of the scatterometer so as to make the antenna aiming at the measuring target. In order to make the measuring operation of the radar scatterometer more convenient and make the measurement result more accurate, this paper expands the research of turntable control system which is used for radar scatterometer measurement. Turntable control system as the drive element of the scatterometer is an important part for scatterometer to finish the scattering coefficient measuring. The main function of the turntable control system is driving the antenna of the scatterometer to rotation and fix position quantitatively, and measuring the incidence angle of antenna beam of scatterometer.This paper selects the company project which I participate in as the background. It aims at the measurement of scatterometer, and analysis the functional requirement which is needed by the scatterometer for turntable control system. And this paper finished the design and implementation of the turntable control system. First, this paper researched the component and working principal of the radar scatterometer measuring system, and studied the schematic design of two forms of radar scatterometer which are related to this project. And then, this paper focuses on the design and implementation of turntable control subsystem. It mainly contains the working principle and selection of main devices, such as stepper motor and motor driver, angle encoder, obliquity sensor and so on. And it contains the turntable control panel circuit design, which based on the single chip computer as the micro-controller. And it also contains the C language program design for the MCU of turntable control panel and the turntable control’upper computer software design which based on MFC. At last, this paper designed the measurement experiment of the terrain scatter coefficient by the scatterometer with the cooperation of the turntable control system, and then analysised and studied the measured data.
