With the increasing scale of the integrated circuit, the traditional RTL simulation software, such as NC Verilog,VCS and so on, there is no way to completely cover the entire verification process in a reasonable time. On the basis of this, the FPGA prototype verification technology is adopted in the industrial field as a complement to the IC design verification work. However, the weak visibility of FPGA prototype verification technology limits the application scope of this technology in SoC design. So the academic circles put forward the SCE-MI 2.0 protocol in 2007 in order to optimize the speed of the whole simulation by using the speed advantage of hardware and the diversification of the data processing function of the software. But there is no reliable and low cost solution in the industry.The thesis puts forward a bran-new hardware architecture of the software and hardware co-simulation platform by using stream interface PIPE and NoC interconnect technology.This hardware architecture can obtain more than 1000 times the speed of simulation compared to the traditional RTL simulation tool,it successfully solves the problem of low simulation efficiency.Firstly, this thesis introduced the concept of software and hardware co-simulation by analyzing the bottleneck problem, and introduced the design scheme of software and hardware co-simulation platform based on SCE-MI protocol in detail.Then, the thesis mainly discussed% designed and implemented the software side SCE-MI interface、hardware side SCE-MI interface、transactor and readback function block of the software and hardware co-simulation platform,and applied NoC interconnect network into the hardware architecture.At last,this thesis integrated the software side SCE-MI interface、the hardware side SCE-MI interface、the transactor、the readback function block and NoC interconnect network into the whole platform, verified the capability of fast simulation and debugging of the platform by the experiment,and performed the performance comparison with other kind of simulation and emulation tools.
