EEG Acquisition System Software Design

In recent years, EEG acquisition system has been widespread concern in brain science and medical staff due to the high time resolution and low maintenance cost and easy to operate. For now, most domestic focus on EEG amplifier design, while ignoring the EEG acquisition software. The main purpose of this paper is to design a set of EEG acquisition software with core technologies and independent intellectual property rights. The EEG acquisition software connected with EEG amplifier can be used as integrated EEG acquisition system.Our EEG acquisition software includes embedded applications, USB(Universal Serial Bus) firmware, USB driver and PC(personal computer) terminal program. Specifically, the paper completed the following work:1. According to the EEG acquisition software design requirements, we designed embedded program. Embedded program has three functions. First, control the amplifier to extract EEG. Second, send the EEG data and device information to USB. Thirdly, respond the control instruction from PC program.2. To be able to quickly and accurately upload EEG data to PC, we designed USB firmware and USB driver. USB firmware program provides support for data exchange between embedded software and PC software. And the function of USB driver provides support for the EEG data acquisition software.3. We designed PC program. The PC program mainly includes waveform drawing, power spectrum analysis, software filtering, impedance detection, the user database and other functions.4. Finally, we join the EEG amplifier and EEG acquisition software, making it become a complete EEG acquisition system.In order to verify the performance of the EEG acquisition system, we do some related tests. The results show that the system has high reliability and stability in the EEG acquisition. Therefore, our EEG acquisition system can be used for the actual EEG acquisition.
